Common questions and how to get help.
How does push-up detection work?
Rise & Grind uses Apple's Vision framework to track your body pose through the front camera. It monitors your movement in real time to count each full push-up rep. No images or video are ever saved.
Why does the app need camera access?
The camera is used exclusively to detect and count your push-ups. All processing happens on your device — nothing is recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.
The app isn't counting my push-ups correctly
Make sure your phone is on the floor with the front camera facing you, and that your full upper body is visible. Good lighting helps. The app needs to see your nose and shoulders to track your movement.
Can I change the number of push-ups required?
Yes — when setting your alarm, use the slider to choose anywhere from 5 to 50 push-ups in increments of 5.
Does the alarm work in Silent Mode or Do Not Disturb?
Yes. Rise & Grind is designed to break through Silent Mode, Focus, and Do Not Disturb so you never oversleep.
Is my data private?
Completely. Rise & Grind has no accounts, no analytics, no network requests. Everything stays on your device. Read our full privacy policy for details.
Can I dismiss the alarm without doing push-ups?
No — that's the point. The alarm keeps going until you complete the required number of push-ups. No snooze, no dismiss.
